KITT Miniature by Jack Sessums
Beginning with Knight Rider’s second season, to cut down on costs associated with the show’s incredible stunts, producers brought in Jack Sessums to create and film action sequences with miniature versions of KITT. These miniatures were used for many of the turbo boosts and other stunts throughout the end of the series. To our knowledge, roughly 9 of these models were produced.
We currently have one of those 9 in our shop! It is on loan to us, as the owner has asked us to perform some preservation and to strengthen the model. We will be disassembling, cleaning, reinforcing the plastic body, and doing some light paintwork. We will also be re-creating a few of the smaller missing pieces to make this a complete model. The owner will then be placing this model up for sale or auction early next year.
