One of the most distinctive elements of KITT's dashboard is the incredible gullwing steering wheel. The wheel we offer was originally designed by KITT creator Michael Scheffe and is the most accurate on the market today from Knight Designs.
We recognize that the strength of a steering wheel is of utmost importance, so no less than 1/4" of heavy duty fiberglass is used throughout this piece. For extra safety, a heavy duty steel adapter is integrated into the wheel to prevent separation. This also allows the access point to be in the bottom of the tube to avoid a gaping hole in the front of the wheel. The access point is completely hidden by the pod, so there is no visible access point or cover plates on the body of the wheel. This solid wheel is a great counterbalance for the car to self-steer straight when going out of curves.
